Of the most revered mystics and poets of Iran, Baba Taaher, also known as Baba Taher-e Oryan, walk the earth of 11th century AD; during the reign of Toghrul Bek of the Seljuk Empire.
Dying in the same town, Hamedan, which he was born in, Baba Toher lived a full yet mysterious life up to the age 85. The name Baba Toher Oyran, means the Naked Baba Taher. It is speculated to be a reference to him being a wandering dervish, detached from all worldly possessions.
