Ever wondered if it would be possible to ski in the middle east? Or Better yet, on one of the forty highest ski resorts in the world, at 3,600 meters (11,800ft) above sea level? Dizin Ski Resort, located approximately 70 kilometers (45 miles) from Tehran, is the first internationally recognized winter sports resort by the International Ski Federation (ISF) to have the capability hosting and administering official international competitions, in Iran.
Beginner or professional, skiers at Dizin have a long time to try out all 23 slopes before the season ends, as it boasts a surprisingly long 7 month ski season (November – May). Dizin provides a variety of slopes including half pipes, terrain parks, cross-country and top lift. With enough accommodations to host thousands, ski/snowboard rentals and lessons available, there really is no excuse for missing out on this unique experience!
The slopes, however, are not the only point of attraction. From May to September, the resort also offers activities such as tennis, mountain climbing, mountain biking and grass skiing. The exquisite drive up to and down back through the Alborz Mountains, especially, is a truly breathtaking experience.
