COULD IRAN BE THE TOP TOURISM DESTINATION OF 2016?

Country braced for ‘tsunami’ of visitors after nuclear deal

• It’s hoped the historic nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers will mean fresh dynamics in the Middle East
• Iran’s vice-president, Masoud Soltanifar, said loosening visa rules are opening the door for the return of tourists
• Improved relations could see tourists flocking to see the impressive Persepolis site or to Tehran for skiing

Change is afoot in Iran, with the country currently preparing for a ‘tsunami’ of foreign tourists, the country’s vice-president revealed yesterday.
The news comes as Iran and world powers are to begin implementing a landmark nuclear deal that will lift sanctions in return for curbs on Iran’s nuclear program.
With improved relations, Iran’s beaches, breathtaking Islamic architecture and incredible food could see the country be top of the ‘must-visit’ destinations of 2016.
