Haaji Feerouz, also known as Khajeh Pirouz, is a mythical character from Iranian folklore that is spotted in the early days of Norouz, visiting from city to city spreading the word about the forthcoming of the New Year.
He is a slim dark faced man that wears pointy canvas shoes, a bright red shirt, pants and hat; carrying and playing a tambourine! He hits the streets dancing, singing, entertaining and making jokes in spirit of the New Year.
